Acciona lands biggest agreement for nacelles

Last week, Acciona Windpower announced a largest agreement given opening a West Branch plant, saying it will supply 126 of a 1.5 megawatt breeze turbines to erect a 189-MW Rim Rock breeze park in Montana.

A infancy of a nacelles will be constructed by a West Branch plant, doubling a 2011 output, though CEO Joe Baker pronounced some nacelles will boat from overseas.

“The infancy are being fabricated during West Branch,” he pronounced in an e-mail interview. “Because of a failing prolongation taxation credit for breeze facilities, a customer contingency have all commissioned and operational by Dec. 31. To accommodate this deadline we will also boat some from Spain.”

The agreement with NaturEner USA, LLC also includes Acciona Windpower handling a ride and commissioning of a turbines, as good as operation and upkeep for 7 years.

“The new agreement consolidates Acciona Windpower’s position in North America, where it has granted a sum of 1,314 MW in new years,” Acciona pronounced in a statement, adding that 713 MW of that went to a United States, and 556 MW went into Mexico and 45 MW went into Canada.

While Baker declined to recover a dollar volume of a contract, he pronounced it was a largest given a West Branch plant non-stop in Dec 2007.

Acciona will supply Rim Rock with AW 77-1500 turbines with a rotor hole of scarcely 253 feet; smoothness and designation will be carried out via 2012.

NaturEner, a Spanish association like Acciona, has sought Acciona in a past as it works in a growth and operation of hydro, photovoltaic and breeze appetite plants in Spain, a U.S. and Canada. Acciona has granted 210 MW of turbines to a Glacier Wind we and Glacier Wind II breeze parks, also in Montana.

Baker pronounced that while a stream workforce is “sufficient” to fill a NaturEner order, “we will be employing a few additional folks.”
