Bottled Water Not The Best Solution To The Tap Crisis
Water is essential to life. The right kind of water, that is. We know that drinking water is hazardous to your health. City water typically contains chlorine, chloramines and fluoride, and often contains pesticides, arsenic, lead as well as other harmful organic chemicals. Who knows what lurks in well water that is not treated at all.
People are playing cautions raised about drinking water, as evidenced by the tremendous rise in the intake of water in bottles despite its costing 1000 times the price of plain tap water. Marketing campaigns have capitalized on these concerns, leading us to trust that water in bottles is more advanced than tap water. This is probably true in many cases, however, many bottled water is no different than that coming from the tap.
There have been often times I have bought bottled water plus it tastes just like I had gotten it from the tap. Associated with there are few standards regulating the grade of bottled water.
The astronomical big difference in the price involving the two is partly due to the costs of manufacturing the plastic containers for water in bottles and the expense of transporting it by truck to stores. These expenses alone cannot justify the high prices, especially if the water is not even purified.
Additionally, there are other health issues to bottled water. Since the bottles are constructed of plastic, toxic chemicals are released in to the environment during their manufacture and disposal, and toxins are released in to the water itself, especially if the plastic is cloudy. If you must drink water in plastic containers, buy it in bottles made from clear plastic, that is less toxic.
If you consume water in bottles, make certain the label says it’s been filtered by reverse osmosis water filtration as well as sanitized by ozonation. Another option is to consume water from a spring source you know for certain is clean. But how can you be sure? You can’t be certain with bottled water.
In my opinion, bottled water just isn’t the most effective treatment for the problem of toxic regular water. You may be the most certain your water is clean, have less plastic toxicity, spend less and help protect the surroundings by obtaining a good filter for an unlimited way to obtain clean water at home.
