Andy Murray, bureau manager with Hometown Roofing Co., pronounced his association is not dependent with another “Hometown Roofing” business of Greeley, Colo., that a city identified as unlicensed.

The difficulty over a dual businesses’ names has cost Murray’s company, that is protected by a city of Cheyenne, about $70,000 in revenue, he said.

The Hometown Roofing from Nebraska performed a city assent progressing this week to correct hail-damaged roofs and has non-stop a Cheyenne office.

A story in Wednesday’s Wyoming Tribune Eagle quoted city Building Safety Department officials as observant a business named “Hometown Roofing” of Greeley, Colo., had been doing roof repairs in Cheyenne though a city license. However, a city couldn’t yield a correct spelling of a business’ name or any other sum about a business, such as an owner’s name or write number.

Building Safety Department officials pronounced they have hold dual unlawful roofers handling in Cheyenne given a hailstorms.

City arch building central Bruce Wilson pronounced his dialect has 7 inspectors who check to see if roofers are licensed.

However, he pronounced it is unfit for his inspectors to check all of a roofers. That is because it is critical for homeowners to check for a documents.

He pronounced infrequently his inspectors will see work going on and endorse either a assent has been released for that sold address.

If there is no permit, a examiner will proceed a workers and ask about licenses and permits and sequence that work be stopped until correct support is provided.

All new construction in a city is compulsory to have a assent and be legalised by a Building Safety Department.

When a city catches an unlawful contractor, many times a workers don’t have business cards or other forms of ID to brand a association they work for, Wilson said.

“Getting information out of them is like pulling teeth,” Wilson said.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle contacted HomeTowne Roofing LLC of Greeley on Tuesday, and a male who refused to give his full name pronounced a association did not do work here.

After a essay was published, several business called Murray’s bureau here and canceled their roof correct contracts, notwithstanding assurances that a association had not been doing roof repairs though a license.

The association had been receiving contracts for work locally though hold off on doing any tangible work until a city authorized a license.

The association was authorized for a assent by a city’s Contractor Licensing Board.

Murray pronounced a difficulty has influenced his association “severely,” though he combined that his association still has 16 roof jobs.

Following a difficulty over a business name, Wilson pronounced he will demeanour into changing his department’s procedures in terms of removing some-more specific information from unlawful contractors when they are caught.
