Harold Verkleir – Leader
Harold Verkleir was innate Sept. 11, 1929, a son of William A. and Sophie Verkleir during Amsterdam, N.Y. He graduated in 1947 from Wilbur Lynch propagandize in Amsterdam, N.Y. and changed to Mayfield, N.Y. In 1948, he assimilated his father in a Mayfield Sand Gravel Co. Upon his father’s retirement, he became a owner. In a early ’60s, he purchased Art Stone Co. of Gloversville, N.Y. He became a writer of petrify blocks and precast funeral vaults to this he combined precast septic tanks and petrify pipe. He afterwards combined Verkleir Welding Supply. During his prolonged life, he was always into scrap. Upon his semi-retirement in 1980, he continued scrapping until his death. After 27 years of use to a Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department, he became a life member. He is survived by: 3 sons, Michael H. of Edinburg, Daniel J. and William A. of Mayfield; dual daughters, Mary K. Mauro of Wells. Kathy A. of Mayfield; and 3 grandchildren.
He wanted his physique donated to Albany Medical Center. There will be no job hours.
