PASCO — The Pasco School District is changing a menu in expectation of new supervision guidelines.
The discipline won’t be set in mill until tumble of 2013 though Pasco says it’s now upping a volume of whole grains and veggies.
They’ll also cut behind on potatoes, portion spuds usually once or twice a week.
Your kids will still get favorites like pizza and muffins though they’ll be done with whole grains instead of white flour.
The district says they’re about 80 percent of a approach towards assembly a due guidelines.
The other 20 percent will come from changes suppliers will make.
“Manufacturers now are training to come adult with new recipes and formulas. They will have to adjust to diminution sodium and boost whole grains in their product and it takes a small bit of time,” says Mary Nowak PSD’s Director of Nutrition Services.
Kennewick and Richland schools tell KEPR they’re already where they need to be and don’t expect poignant changes.
