Is This The Right Time To Install A Pool?

The recession has put a damper on pool demand, and this has lowered the prices for in-ground pools substantially. But is this the right time to have a pool installed?

Some experts say would say no. The main argument is that you won´t use the pool that much to justify its cost. This is probably true if you life in the Northeast. But if you live Florida or sunny California you have ample summer months to enjoy your pool.

The experts also argue that with swimming pools (piscinas in Portuguese) there is always the maintenance cost to consider. Pools are relatively expense to maintain, from chemicals, electricity, to pool cleaning, these expenses do add up.

On the other hand, the current environment of lower home prices and low interest rates means you could probably buy a home with a pool and pay a much lower monthly payment than you would only a few years ago.

If you think long term, taking advantage of the deals being offered on pools my be a good investment going into the future.  Sooner or later the economy and housing markets will recover.

Adding a pool to your home will not however increase its value as much as building a deck. Decks are much lower maintenance and can have a greater impact in the value of your home at the time of sale.

In-gound swimming pool costs (piscinas preços in Portuguese) vary, but one of the least expensive options are the in-ground pool that use a liner (piscina tela armada in Portuguese).

These pools cost about $10000 plus the cost of installation which can be a few thousand dollars. The liner used for the pools are of good quality and come with a 10 year guarantee.

If you prefer a less expensive solution you can buy an above ground pool. Above ground pools can also be carried around and that could be a plus. This means that if you move to a different home you can take the pool with you. About ground swimming pools are worth considering since the average American only stays at the same house for about 7 years.

Owning a pool can also be good for your health. Pools are fun and a great reason to leave the couch and do some exercise and in water exercises are safe, full-body workouts.
