Metal Roofs– Know the Fact

Before you decide whether or not a metal roof is best for your needs, you should consider both the advantages and disadvantages these roofs offer. One of the main advantages is the fact that metal roofs are very lightweight. Because they are light, they are easy to move and install. The lightweight also makes it a good choice for those who need to install roofing materials over existing materials. Metal is also a durable choice making it preferred over other types of materials. In fact, many people who have metal roofs installed professionally find that their roof will endure for many years, and often as long as the house lasts. Another major advantage provided by metal roofs is the fact that they withstand fire that comes from exterior sources. Fire Resistance Ratings are defined as Class A, Class B, and Class C. The majority of metal roofs are given Class A ratings, however, always double check with your roofing contractor regarding your roof’s fire resistance rating. Metal roofs also help retain energy and heat, saving you money on energy bills. Since safety is the primary concern when considering roofing materials, it is easily understandable why many people prefer metal roofs to others.

Many people also choose metal roofs over other materials simply because there is a wide variety of styles, colors, and sizes to choose from. Metal roofs are a great way to ensure that your roof looks great and matches the exterior décor of your home.

Some of the disadvantages that are associated with metal roofs include high cost and noise. Metal roofs cost more than other roofs, especially if you select copper roofs. Therefore, it is imperative to make certain that your budget allows for the type of metal roof that you prefer. However, this has a hidden benefit. Because metal roofs are worth more, they will increase the property value of your home. The last disadvantage to consider is noise. If you choose a metal roof, you must discuss your options with your contractor regarding noise prevention. Typically, the contractor will install the metal roof over plywood to ensure that it is sound proof.

To file a lawsuit in civil court, you would have to have a monetary loss.

You could have filed criminal "endangerment" charges in criminal court but I'd think you'd have a hard time in civil court, again, unless you had some sort of monetary loss.

Hcl eats metal. If there were holes in the enamel the acid when applied would attack the roofing. The damage would be immediate and obvious.

Hcl becomes diluted (weaker) when you add water. If the contractor was careful to rinse well and then you had three days of rain it's hard to imagine any acid residue could have remained or done any damage.

You might buy one piece of roofing and duplicate the cleaning and flushing process to see if it damages the metal. This could provide some insights.

    good luck.

No, the car wouldn't be legal & motorcycles are different because of physics.

If a car hits a wall, it stops, but you keep going at speed. The seat belt & air bags are designed to soften the impact's effect on your body & keep you from flying through the window at 30+ mph. It doesn't guarantee survival, but increases the odds a lot.

If you wipe out on a motorcycle & were strapped to it, you could end up between the bike & whatever it hits, thereby being crushed. If you fall off (wearing a helmet), you'll be behind, not in front, of the bike and slow down faster, maybe not hitting anything but the ground. Your angle of hitting pavement would also be shallower than if launched out of a car. Of course dying in a motorcycle wreck is more likely than a car wreck as you have no steel frame around you.

Remember, motorcycles have been around longer than seat belts & air bags. Back in those days you were as likely to die in a car crash as on a bike (when your face hit the hard dash or you flew threw the sheet of glass window). When safety laws came around, motorcycles were well established & the motorcycle lobby & riders would have rebelled more than gun owners if the government had tried to ban their favorite possession.

HCl is soluble in water. Adding water to a HCl solution dilutes the acid. Add enough water and the HCl solution approaches the acidity of rain water. The HCl has been completely washed away by 3 days of rain. There certainly won't be any HCl solution left on the roof. The HCl was probably washed away by the contractor when he rinsed off the roof after cleaning it.

The owner is confused about HCl. The gas, HCl, ionizes in water and is corrosive. Exposing the roof to concentrated HCl solution is more corrosive than exposing a dry rood to HCl gas. However, the more water you add to a HCl solution, the weaker (and less corrosive) it becomes.

Cutting down on the budget to make cars like that would cause thousands of injuries and would wind up costing millions of more dollars worth of injuries than it would save.

Motorcycles are legal because their *primary* use is intended for recreation, not necessary transportation that the average American needs.
